We're Having a Baby!

We had decided on the honeymoon that we were going to start to try and add an addition to our family. We had already lived together for 2.5 years, and decided that we were ready. Of course, we didn't really expect to get pregnant on the honeymoon! I had actually purchased an ovulation kit, and I was going to start tracking my ovulation days -- but it tells you to wait until your next menstrual cycle to start ... well it never started...! About a month after the honeymoon, I decided to take a test - not really thinking it would come back positive. It was one of the dollar store tests that I took at first, and I saw a VERY faint line show up. I didn't know if a faint line counted, so of course I called my best friend Christy and asked her where she was and told her I needed her immediately. She happened to be at Publix. I drove to Publix and made her come outside. (She was 21 weeks pregnant at the time so I figured she would be an expert and could tell me if I was pregnant right away!!) -- So I show her the test and she said that a line does show up unless it is a Yes! --- naturally we go into publix and buy a more high tech pregnancy test (after looking at every single one available on the shelf!)

Robert was there too, and I swore him to secrecy because I knew Andy should have been the first one to find out... but he had gone to work that night and I needed someone to clarify if this was all real for me.

I went home and took the test and it came back with a big YES! on it. No way that I could mess that one up! (those are much easier than the little lines!!)

So, I called Andy and told him that I needed him to come outside of his office in a few minutes (I was driving down to his office because I had to tell him right away, I was so excited!)

As soon as I told him, he started to get tears in his eyes and said, "I'm going to be a dad?!" --- so so sweet. The first thing he did with me was sit down on the bench and pray. He wanted to thank God for all of the wonderful thing that had happened in our life in the past month. From getting married, to traveling to Jamaica, to finding out we were going to be parents.

Such a blessing - we can't wait for this journey!!
